At the moment Web 2.0 is the leading approach in web strategy and development. But it’s clear it is reaching it’s limit. Watch this documentary about the exploring fase of web 3.0.
Kate Ray
Journalist Kate Ray succeeded with her short film in bringing the subject of web development to an abstract level, though it’s quite understandable for everyone who is interested in the social and philosophical implications of the world wide web.
Numeric vs. semantic
Web 2.0 is producing so much data that people more and more feel overwhelmed by it. By that the value of information decreases. The semantic web, or web 3.0, should bring information in relationship with the user. It provides extra information to help users with the meaning (semantics) of the information. The world wide web is not capable of providing meaning to it’s data. It just suggests relationships between numeric data. The semantic web should be a new platform besides the world wide web.
The documentary shows some great philosophical questions like: Does the world make sense, or do we make sense of the world?
